Anna's Blog > L.A. and the Cruise

8 Aug 2007

L.A. was awesome! Actually, L.A. was ugly, ugly, ugly, but Janet's family was awesome, and we had a great time. They are so funny--it's like going to a comedy club just hanging out with them. I didn't see any stars, but they have, and told some stories--like Janet's sister was waiting in line at Starbucks, and she turned around and Angelina Jolie was in line behind her! So she tried to be cool, but started sweating, and when she got the counter, ordered with all this stuttering. She wanted to peek, but didn't want to stare, so kind of turned her back until she got her coffee and peeked at her on the way out and Angelina smiled at her!! I'm glad I'm not the only dork in the world!

So the barracuda called and said she'd gotten reservations for Janet and me to come with her and Dad and my brother on a cruise through Hawaii! I never really wanted to go on a cruise, but it'll be a long time before I can afford to take a vacation on my own, and the barracuda is paying for everything. Now that I've met Janet's family, I want her to get to know mine. I hope the barracuda doesn't eat her alive or make her break up with me. Hopefully we can mostly hide on the boat. So we're leaving Saturday, and I have so much to do! I have to work double shifts this week, too, to cover a co-worker who'll work for me when I'm gone. I feel really bad leaving Penny that long, but my neighbor will feed her and love her. I hope she won't be traumatized. I can't afford kitty therapy.
